Inspired by my niece and sister, I've decided to take on the playful challenge of snapping one photo a day—for an entire year! Snapping my first photo on February 20, I'm off and running with the 365 Project.

If I see it and I like it...I'll snap it!

I got flowers on a cloudy day

Ran down to Elizabeth Park today after work and sloshed through the wet grass to snap a few...

Happy Pesach!

For the fourth year in a row, I was invited to share in the seder Passover meal with former neighbors, Joel and Alyssa (and Eliot) Norwood, extended family and a few other friends. I always appreciate the rich symbolism and history.

Thanks Joel and Alyssa!

"The purest and most thoughtful minds...

...are those who love color the most."
—John Ruskin

After a weekend with artist friends Marge and Pat, I'm getting in the car and traveling the road to color. Let's see what I find!

Chick Buzz

Last night, Pat, Marge and I opened our art show, Ports of Color. So many friends streaming through the door throughout the evening. What a wonderful time!

My little chick generated a lot of buzz, so I post it here.

Enjoy yourself while you're still in the pink!

Another birthday and I'm enjoying myself while I'm still in the pink...but wise to the fact that it's later than I think.

Almost Nobody

Made the decision today that on those rare days when I'm too busy to snap a photo, I'll upload one from the trip I took to Spain about a year and a half ago. Hope you don't mind!

Here's a poster I snapped in 4 Gats, a funky cool cafe that in the early 1900's was a mecca for artists and bohemians living in Barcelona. Read more here.

Ports of Color

Last summer, Marge Malwitz invited me and Pat Butler into her home and studio for a week of art making.

Inspired by Pat's photos from a recent trip to southern Spain and northern Africa, the three us of collaged, printed, glued, quilted, ate, swam and talked...A LOT!

PORTS OF COLOR is the outcome of that very creative and fun week. I'll be posting more as we bring the show together and open the exhibit this Thursday. Stay tuned...and, please, do come if you can!

For behold, the winter is passed...

...The rain is over and gone. The flowers have already appeared in the land; the time has arrived for pruning the vines, and the voice of the turtledove has been heard in our land. — Song of Solomon 2:12

After a long cold winter, the pots on my back porch have their mouths open wide, hungry for me to fill them with rich soil and colorful flowers.

Of Cabbages and Kings...

...or carrots, as it were.
.

Not too interesting, I know. But I had no time to get out there today. Plus it was raining...
again.
.
But sunshine promised for tomorrow. I'll venture out to see what I can snap!

I Love My Bookshelves!

Too busy with other stuff today to get out there with the camera. But since I have to snap a pic a day, I chose my bookshelves. Had them installed a little over a year ago. Books on bookshelves...one of my favorite things!

A Rainy Night in West Hartford

I feel it's rainin' all over the world.
.
Too wet and cold today to get out there with the camera. But driving through West Hartford Center earlier this evening, I was impressed with the way street lights reflected on the street. So I pulled over and snapped!

Last Snaps in NYC

Last stop before we head home. Now where is that place?... And what was its name? There it is!! M&J Trimmings! That's it! What a wonderful place!
.
And that'll do it for my trip to NYC. Charging up the camera now to get out there tomorrow and snap what I see and like in my own home town.
.
Snap on!

Bobbles and Beads

Above photo: Fab 4 bobble heads in the window. But wait! Where's George?? Tossed in the back, and he looks none too happy about it.

Sunday in the Garment District with Pat

On Sunday we headed to NY's garment district. I can't sew a stitch, but I just love fabric stores—bolts of colorful fabric. I don't know...I can't sing too well either, but I love to listen to music. Maybe it's the same thing. Who knows...

I'm ready for my closeup

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I was in NYC this past weekend with my good friend, Pat, taking in our 5th annual conference of the International Arts Movement. Past conferences have been outstanding, but this one didn't quite measure up. Still, it had some fun moments...like participating in a worldwide moment on Thursday at 2:10PM. Here's one I snapped for that...an art patron going in for a closeup of a painting by IAM founder Mako Fujimura.

More photos to come, but it's late and I need to go to bed.

15 Days to St. Patrick's Day...

...but who's counting?
Well, this guy for one. For my co-worker, Jeff, it's more like St. Patricks' MONTH! If you plan on attending Hartford's St. Patrick's Day parade this year, look for his green, white and orange flag-festooned van near the corner of Capitol and Washington Streets. He and his family will gladly share with you whatever snacks and drinks they brought...and 'tis sure you'll be havin' some good laughs
.

Nadia peels an orange

My friend and co-worker, Nadia, eats two oranges a day. To watch her peel each one...well, it's sheer artistry is what it is.
